DAY 21: Favorite Fighting Game

Hey, you guys know about Super Smash Brothers, right? The game where you play a bunch of licensed Nintendo characters, grab items, and generally cause mayhem and destruction?
To say it would have imitators after its success goes without saying. However, only one game did it right, and even then, it didn't do it completely right its first time.
Power Stone was an attempt to have a casual-style fighting game like Smash Brothers in full 3D, and is basically the casual counterpart to Tekken or Soul Calibur (kind of like Smash is the counterpart of 2D fighters like Street Fighter). As of such, the first one is incredibly unpolished, focused more on technique and timing... but the the second one turns it into an item-based frenzy. There's just something awesome about grabbing goddamn Excalibur to beat on a friend (or enemy) only to have him reply by hopping in a tank and shoving a few rounds in your face.
The titular Power Stones are basically your super mode, and like the dragoon parts or Smash Ball in Brawl, you can get them whacked out of you if you take enough of a punishment. There's usually four to a stage - get three and you turn into something ranging from Totally Not A Super Saiyan to Robot With Goddamn Laser Pistols for a short time, allowing you to run about and just wreck face.
It's a hell of a lot of fun, and arguably even EASIER to pick up than Smash Brothers. I'd recommend at least giving it a try. ♥
