DAY 11: A Game That Changed Your Opinion About Something

It took a lot of thinking to come to this - I knew the opinion that was changed, but I couldn't remember the exact point at which it happened.
See, with the advent of 3D platforming, everyone jizzed their pants over Super Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure and Crash Sonicwannabe, and I was unimpressed. 3D games controlled like bricks, had serious physics issues, and cameras were basically yet another way for the computer to intentionally kill you. I swore I'd never play a 3D platformer, and even stuck by it well into the PSX/Saturn/N64 generation, swearing on things like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and RPGs for most of the generation.
In fact, I realized, it wasn't a platformer that warmed me up to 3D action games. It was Ocarina of Time, which was only remotely about platforming - jumping was tricky at best, obnoxious at worst, and completely uncontrollable when it was done.
At the same time, the camera was managable (most of the time), the controls were actually GOOD, and... hey. It's a Zelda game. They haven't really made a BAD one on a Nintendo system, though the "let's travel more! :V" nature of the Wind Waker series (Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks) might make people call it atrocious.
But ZELDA TOOT (most unfortunate acronym, thankfully they just called it "Ocarina of Time" in the final release instead of tacking on the second "The" in the title) was the game that finally warmed me up to the genre of 3D not sucking. After that, I got into Spyro, eventually Sonic Adventure, and... well, Mario 64 still sucks, I say, and that's my opinion, I'm entitled to it. :|
