Firstly, April 1st is the day of reckoning in many such ways for me. I'm gonna be moving back to Texas, but this time I'm flying unaided, without a safety net, and nigh blind. There's no way to put it off any longer, and to do so would be a worse option even if I could, but god damn if I'm not scared absolutely, positively shitless at the thought of possibly ending up homeless. I will make sure Ariana is provided for, if nothing else... absolute worst case scenario, I can do that. But, well, damn. There's so many things that COULD go wrong that the pessimist side of me is positively, absolutely freaking the fuck out and I'd be lying if I didn't say it was downright paralyzing.

So I've been trying to shut down my mind the past few days, and wouldn't you know it, Soul Silver came out yesterday, so I've been working on my game-running team here. As of such, I have five slots, with a space for a sixth (needing ice, flying, or fighting - most of what I'm lacking in coverage is Ground, Rock, and Grass). Team setup is currently as follows:

JIRACHI, L15 Gamestop Event Jirachi (If I use the AR to rename it, I might name it Hoyu ('Possessed') or Zero, in reference to a certain other creepy floating thing with an eye in its gut)
Flandre, L20 Quilava (F) (I got lucky and got female without even trying orz)
Corona, L15 Flaaffy (M)
Sirocco, L15 Sandslash (M)
Facilier, L15 Spiritomb (M) (He's got friends on the other side~ *SHOT*)

The reason Flandre is five levels above the rest is because I just finished the bug gym and also naffed around a bit with the Pokewalker.

So yeah. STRESS = BIGGER POKENERD.

EDITED TO ADD
GAHHHHH. WHITNEYYYY. MILTAAAANK. ghwrgvhbd.

Even with a Ghost type and a Steel type, that damn Miltank basically ripped me a new asshole. It's only by virtue of Jirachi being genderless and a lucky Sand Attack that I got through with my pokes.

For those curious:
L19 Miltank
Ability: Scrappy (meaning it can hit Ghost types with Normal/Fightan moves)
Stomp
Attract
(The gym leader's token HERE'S YOUR TM TO USE move)
Rollout
Milk Drink

Enemy strategy: Attract anything of opposite gender (read: Male). Then, proceed to Stomp on the enemy as if doing a Cossack dance. Let Flinch-Attract superhax rip through enemies. Upon getting low on HP, Milk Drink. If Stomp ever runs out of PP, switch to Rollout.

If you think you can be faster? Miltank, upon looking up the numbers, has Base 100 Speed, meaning it's easily faster than even a fair number of legendaries of equal level. And if you're thinking of picking up something naturally in-game that can outspeed it when it's only the 3rd Johto gym?

hahahahahahano

The worst part? This is technically totally legit, unlike the Faint Attacking Skuntanks in D/P/Pt.

Short version: FLINCHAX IS THE NEW ROLLOUT

Honestly, come what may I think you're gonna at least *feel* better for going back to Texas, so... that can only be a good thing, even if you are scared. ;_; *hugclings*

Re: Miltank -

FUCK

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU I'm gonna have to hope that I can take her down with Riolu or something. Jeeeeesus man. 8C also I still don't see blue puppy on your team lineup what

ARE YOU THE KING OF CATS? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yeah. Doesn't mean I'm not just... twitchy.

Hard to say. Level that shit up. Make him a Lucario by then if you can. GET ONE WITH INNER FOCUS IF YOU CAN. If it's female, that'll be an enormous help. Force Palm will be your best friend, but even with Riolu/Lucario's monstrous attack stat, expect it to take two or three hits - more if she manages to get a Super Potion or Milk Drink off - to bring it down. Counter might help, since it only has Phys attacks, but Lucario's HP stat is... kind of ass? So you won't see as much mileage out of it as you might like.
