Write down seven songs you really like at the moment, something about why you like them, then tag seven other people, who must do the same. (Screw you, Meme, you'll not propogate through ME!)
1) Green Day - Homecoming
I love American Idiot. That much is given. And this song - the pentultimate (or arguably ultimate) of the album - says basically what the rest of the album hints at: America is fucked up straight, and that even the most radical mind may end up dead on the news or making a living filling out paperwork (at the facility on East 12th Street, even). It's a surprisingly powerful song, especially considering the gung-ho 'fuck the world' attitude of the rest of the album - and the perfect conclusion. It wouldn't truly be "American Idiot" if all those wild fancies, empassioned fights against The Man, and living recklessly led to anything more than a dead-end job and falling asleep on the couch while watching Spike TV.
2) Rexy, for Dwelling of Duels Secret of Mana competition - Reign of the Mana Sword (Mana for Four Pianos)
Another thing I love is truly psycho piano pieces. Pieces that need approximately eighteen hands to play. That it's a twenty minute long megamix of pretty much everything Secret of Mana only makes it THAT much better.
3) Finger Eleven - Slow Chemical
...I blame DeAnna for this one. Those unfamiliar with the song or its specific significance, this is also the piece of music currently used as Kane's intro music on WWE Raw. Guitars managing to rock out and sound nice and evil without going at 900 BPM, Finger Eleven yelling into a mic... you can't really lose. Honestly.
4) TaQ - era (Great Blue ~era outsetmix 2~)
See above comment about psycho piano. Increase by tenfold and put it to one of the most addicting songs already in DDR that isn't happy-peppy eurobeat. Stir.
5) Rammstein - Engel
I also love foreign songs, provided they sound goofy or badass enough. This one falls definitely into "badass"... plus it's a shitload of fun to whistle along with the song and make people look at you funny.
6) Dschingis Khan - Moskau
See note about foreign songs. I had badass, so I had to put goofy. I mean, think about it. It's a GERMAN group, dressed like MONGOLIANS, singing about a RUSSIAN town. Culture confusion much? It also helps that the video is so flamingly effeminate that I think I got gayer just from watching it.
7) Garth Brooks - Friends in Low Places (Live Version)
...Another one I could technically blame on DeAnna, because if she never met me, I'd never have gotten the spine to actually -find- it. The ultimate in cheery breakup music - 'I never liked you anyway, so I'm crashing your party and getting sloshed... don't like it and I'll tell ya where to shove it'. Yes, it's country. Yes, shut up.
