...Welp, things are getting packed, preparations are being made...

The deadline has pretty much come. I'm moving back to California. (As an aside, [livejournal.com profile] rainbow_roo, we need to talk about meeting up some time)

In a lot of ways it's better. It's a better environment for raising a child, I have a job there that I'll get eventually, if nothing else, and I'll be near my family again.

I'll lose a few nearby friends (most notably [livejournal.com profile] pembrokewkorgi, [livejournal.com profile] mutt12, and [livejournal.com profile] istanbul777) but I can handle that. I really think I matured a lot during this trip, in a good way. It's taught me a lot about life, about love, and about responsibility. Lord knows I needed lessons in that last one.

I've also got myself a stable hobby (my reviewing at WorthPlaying, which I intend to keep), an appreciation for job hunting (well, tolerance) and a wife (well, tentative - we aren't married yet but will be) and child (also tentative).

I may not have succeeded in Texas, but I certainly didn't fail. That's what everyone wanted me to take from this, and it most certainly is what I've obtained.

In less than an hour, my computer will be dismantled again to be shipped back to California. Wish me luck, folks. Greyhound bus, while much cheaper, is also much less safe than plane. Also much longer. Ugh, a 32 hour ride...

Wow! Good luck there, buddy. Best of luck to you and your new family.

And don't come back!

That's right, Texas ain't big enough for the two of us. And we're talking about Texas here!

Have a safe trip. Or I'll send the beholder to visit you. :|

Good luck back in California. It sounds like you got a lot out of your stay in Texas.

Good luck, man. Sorry things didn't work out. I'll miss you and what not.

... child?

....yeesh, man, read the journal more often. Yeah, we found out at the end of August. It was kind of irresponsible of both of us, but both of us agreed that we did want it.

Well... I really don't get to read LJ much anymore. Unlike Jim LJ is banned from my work computer, so I can only check out LJ at home... and if I'm at home I'm usually either asleep or doing chores (I only get like three awake hours at home at weekends)... so I don't get the free time to check LJ very often.
