...Welp, things are getting packed, preparations are being made...
The deadline has pretty much come. I'm moving back to California. (As an aside,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
rainbow_roo, we need to talk about meeting up some time)
In a lot of ways it's better. It's a better environment for raising a child, I have a job there that I'll get eventually, if nothing else, and I'll be near my family again.
I'll lose a few nearby friends (most notablypembrokewkorgi, mutt12, and istanbul777) but I can handle that. I really think I matured a lot during this trip, in a good way. It's taught me a lot about life, about love, and about responsibility. Lord knows I needed lessons in that last one.
I've also got myself a stable hobby (my reviewing at WorthPlaying, which I intend to keep), an appreciation for job hunting (well, tolerance) and a wife (well, tentative - we aren't married yet but will be) and child (also tentative).
I may not have succeeded in Texas, but I certainly didn't fail. That's what everyone wanted me to take from this, and it most certainly is what I've obtained.
In less than an hour, my computer will be dismantled again to be shipped back to California. Wish me luck, folks. Greyhound bus, while much cheaper, is also much less safe than plane. Also much longer. Ugh, a 32 hour ride...
