Chapter 4 in a thing

  • BUY ALL THE LEMONADES
  • YAY BIKE
  • Hey, Strength HM. I can think of a few people who would like an 80 Power no-frills move. Lookin' at you, Pupstar, Tank.
  • ...NOOO, MUSICAL.
  • Let's dress up the LIVING AGGRO CRAG like a pretty princess. Yes. LOOKIN' SASSY THERE, ROCKMAN STEEL.
  • FAMILY DORAMUUUU~ ...go away, Bianca.
  • Lots of routes around here, means lots of new 'mon.
  • Caught L19 Trubbish @ Route 16, Nicknamed "Bio-Haz".
  • Caught L22 Liepard @ Route 5, Nicknamed "Deff". Swapped out for Hermit.
  • Caught L20 Venipede @ Lostlorn Forest, Nicknamed "Wriggle".
  • New 'mon caught, time to go back and tackle that gym.
  • ...goddamn it, N, why you such a creeper. FERRIS WHEEL BADTOUCH
  • oh for fuck's sake, I forgot that Emolga was... a thing. That existed. SO MUCH FOR DIG BEING USEFUL, GAIZ. Luckily, Pupstar has Return.
  • And luckily, RM Steel (ha, never a steel type. Maybe I should've gone with RMCharcoal.) has Smack Down.
  • ......well. At least that was.... dramatic. If I was making a comic, that would definitely be something worth showcasing. :C
  • LOST Pupstar to Elesa's Zebstrika. Pulled Rerun back out of box.
  • OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, CHEREN. DO YOU HAVE TO CHALLENGE ME AFTER EVERY FUCKING GYM.
  • Retaliate, Seed Bomb, Aqua Jet, Ancient Power. You went through four Pokemon and I only even used three. Hell, if Rerun wasn't my first slotter, you only would've dealt with two. Stop relying on goddamn Liepard, Cheren.
  • "Here, you two. Fight these preschoolers." You're an asshole, Alder.
  • GODDAMN IT WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE SITRUS BERRIES BUT ME.
  • "strong strong strongness strong strong" shut the fuck UP, Cheren. Also, why the fuck did preschoolers have Herdiers as strong as Pupstar. That seems... unright.
  • Caught L25 Ducklett @ Driftveil Drawbridge. Nicknamed "Ahiru". May replace Tank. Still considering.
  • BUY ALL THE MOOMOO MILKS.
  • Caught L22 Timburr @ Cold Storage. Nicknamed "Tetsuo". May replace Deff. Again, still considering.
  • Caught L22 Karrablast @ Route 6. Nicknamed "Pinchy".
  • Getting awfully far on Route 6. The lack of railroading confuses me, even if I don't mind it. It means I can, hopefully, grind Audinos here. Haven't had a good place to do that since the outside of Pinwheel Forest.
  • AH. THERE'S the roadblock. A big ol' yellow spiderweb. That.... doesn't make sense, I guess?
  • LOST Deff to wild Vanillite. :( Pulled Wriggle out of box.
  • WHAT. Deff Liepard is dead, long live Deff Liepard. :( Avalanche is a dangerous move on a slow pokemon. Especially when it gets STAB and criticals.
  • I GUESS I NEED TO LEVEL SOME AGAIN.
  • Wriggle evolved into Whirlipede!
  • FUCKING EMOLGAS I'M TRYING TO AUDINO LEVEL HERE
  • come to think of it, for a game so desperate to preach Human/Pokemon equality, Unova seems oddly biased against it, what with having an easibly exploitable source of EXP PINATA.
  • Wriggle evolved into Scolipede!
  • Parrrsnips evolved into Simisage!
  • And levelling montage over. Time to catch some plasmas and win some ground gyms.

Saved on Route 6, time elapsed 13:18. 2 pokemon lost: Pupstar (Lillipup->Herdier, L2-L29), Deff (Liepard, L22-L28)

Current team:

Rerun: L30 Herdier (F)
Item: Scope Lens
Return/Roar/Crunch/Take Down
Rerun was the more Attack-oriented of the two Lillipups I've gotten, whereas Pupstar was the faster. Sadly, unless I can hit L35 soon, Herdier's usefulness is dropping off very rapidly.

Wriggle: L30 Scolipede (M)
No Held Item
Dig/Pursuit/Bug Bite/Poison Tail
Why are Bug pokemon always so goddamn painful to level? 90% of the grinding was to get Wriggle up to speed, and then to evolve him at L30. Scolipede is a monster, though, so barring any catastrophe he'll probably end up my psychic/dark killer.

Azula: L28 Darumaka (F)
Item: Charcoal
Fire Fang/Thrash/Fire Punch/Facade
She may be lagging behind in levels at the moment, but Azula is certainly holding her own - I didn't grind her because I knew she'd earn enough EXP on her own, especially in the upcoming cave with Klinks and Ferroseeds. Hustle is starting to be a real son of a bitch, though - that drop in accuracy really hurts at the worst possible times.

RM Steel: L29 Gigalith (F)
Item: Quick Claw
Rock Blast/Iron Defense/Smack Down/Headbutt
I've been using RM Steel less, but she's still a reliable backup when I need a one-turn kill. Even Smack Down's low power doesn't faze her much when she hits Super-Effective, though Rock Blast is more powerful on the whole. (2-5 25 power hits is functionally equal to 50-125 power)

Tank: L27 Tirtouga (M)
No Held Item
Aqua Jet/AncientPower/Crunch/Strength
Tank's S.Atk isn't great, but it's still better than my other mons', meaning Tank's the one I call out against physical walls. Might need to invest in a Special Attacker soon, though. That Rock typing that Tank has really worries me. A lot.

Parrrsnips: L31 Simisage (M)
No Held Item
Cut/Seed Bomb/Leech Seed/Acrobatics
The other 10% of the grinding, Pansage was starting to lag behind, so I ground up Parrrsnips to L31 so that I could get Acrofatics, then evolved him. It's kind of interesting - while he's still quite good for his STAB hitting three of the more common types (Water, Ground, and in Unova, Rock) he's become predominantly my Fighting-type killer due to being one of the few in the early party (and even now) that doesn't have a crippling weakness to being punched in the face.
