Status Update

Worst case scenarios.

As far as my computer (the desktop), it's about 95% certain that the entire problem is the motherboard. The 'new' HDD I was given doesn't spin up when it's connected to the IDE cable, but does otherwise. Connections are fine, which means either spontaneous cable failure or fucked mobo.

As far as Amy's comp (the laptop), it's a problem with the DC port somehow. 75%/25% chance, I'd say, of it being the port vs the charger cable.

So, yeah. both comps are pretty much DOA. I'd need a miracle right now.

Either of those is fantastic, but keep in mind I wouldn't be able to repay the favor for a while, short of trying to play brokeloid more. :|

I don't have LJLogin on this computer yet okay!!! And I will totally take more RP when you have the sanity for it as payment. I just... I know how bad going without some form of computer can be, especially if Job Things of any sort need to be done; I had something very similar to your tech apocalypse happen to me, and it left me computerless for a year while I was jobsearching and it sucked so very hard. IF I CAN AVERT THAT FOR SOMEONE ELSE, I AM HAPPY.

Anyway, I get my next paycheck on Thursday; I'll order it around then (or possibly another one sooner if I can snag a better auction deal). Do you have your address somewhere so I can just have it sent to you, or can you PM me with it?

Got it o7 I'll let you know when it's been ordered/give you the tracking number and all that fun stuff. Just as a heads up, I am not 100% sure the one I was looking at comes with battery; I just poked the seller about it but who knows when they'll get back to me. It DOES come with an AC adapter, though, so even if it doesn't you should be able to use it as long as it's plugged in.
