Random thought time!

Well. It's been a while since I've done this. Both writing an entry and doing unordered lists, which are the easiest ways to do something like this.

  • It appears I don't have an LJ client. Checking the Livejournal page, it appears that the client I used, the ORIGINAL Livejournal client, is dead in the water. So I download the first thing there, some freaky shit called "Semagic".

  • Woah. Semagic has a -button- for doing unordered lists. I wish I'd had that before. That's rather nice.

  • It also has a button for strikethrough. This is nice because I'm always an absentminded retard forgetting what the strikethrough HTML tag is.

  • It appears [livejournal.com profile] xyzzysqrl hates DDR music, from speaking to him. Well. Everything except the happy cheery stuff like smile.dk and Papaya and that whatnot. ...hm. Wonder if he's seen Extreme's soundtrack. Likely not. I should get a list from him of what songs in particular he likes and set him up with some Extreme music. Yes. Yes yes. Must.

  • So tell me. What is everybody's fetish with doing fakey little SNK vs Capcom Card Battle cards to be their personal LJ/furry avatar? It's... wierd. And mildly annoying. Why am I worth 100 BP?

  • And aren't BP 'binto points' or something like that? It's been too long since I've played Brave Fencer Musashi.

  • It's been too long since I played Einhander, too. Which is amazing, considering I can beat Sol Feace but STILL CANNOT BEAT FUCKING EINHANDER.

  • Speaking of games I suck at, it appears I am no good at any sort of computer strategy game. I can clean up in real-life chess or Risk compared to a lot of people, but put it into digital format and I'm an ignoramus who can't add two and two. Argh.

  • o/~Kaaaabiiiii, niji no toranporinnnn o/~

  • ...wait a minute. That STILL looks like it translates to "Kirby, trampoline of rainbows"... that's not right, I swear it's not. Can someone that speaks Japanese help me there?

  • ....woahwoahwoah. In looking for the artist that sings this song, I find out that it's going to be in Donkey Konga. WTF? This isn't rhythm game material, this is Generic Anime Song!

  • Hm. It's 10:12. I should head out. I really did want to get my DDR on. Mmm. Must try to beat Daikenkai again. Or fail once more at my attempt to beat Burning Heat in Heavy mode... Man, I remember when I used to be -good- at DDR. Back when I had a job and hence cash flow..

  • Speaking of a job, I never mentioned, but it appears that I am going to get that job at the local Senior Center. Which is good, as it's fairly low stress but at the same time makes me feel like I'm working for my money. Just what I need in a job.

  • Dammit, I need to stop getting distracted. I'm gonna wrap this up now and give another entry once I come back from playing DDR until my legs turn into pudding. Lates, as they say.

Explanatory

My sort of disinclination (I wouldn't call it hate unless it was something like what my memory informs me is called "Dead End") towards DDR music is pretty obvious if you think about it. Most of said music is intended not for listening purposes, but for dancing to.

If you're... y'know, dancing to it, then it isn't all that bad. This may be why it's in a dancing game. However, for "sit down and listen to" purposes, I tend to find that I can't get involved in it.

I'm certainly not at the point of hating it for being dance music, because that's what it's FOR, but it's not something I'm going to sit and listen to when I need background music.

...that said, if you want the DDR music (or music I think may be DDR related and can't remember) on my drive right now, let me know and I'll compile some kind of list.

Hey, there's very little DDR music I casually listen to myself. Although there's some pieces from that Korean ripoff that I like. Go Beethoven Virus!

Also, anyone associated with Zork has valid opinions, dude. ;)

As of such!
Please note this list is fairly long, so it's sorted by mix, only started at 4th. Each reply will be a new mix. DDRMAX and DDR Extreme got the highest numbers of songs I think you'd enjoy, as they were the ones closest to happy-cheery. 5th and 7th mixes were.. ugh. Lots of Noise Techno Shit and Generic Trance Shit. Admittedly, MAX and Extreme had some too, but not as much.
(Also please note that these are just educated guesses as to what you may like, I could always be wrong)

DDR 4th Mix/4th Mix Plus
Captain Jack - Dream A Dream
Ventura - Lupin the 3rd '78 (NOT the full version! Unless you want to randomly hear a female yell out "RUUUPAAAANNN TZI TZAAAAHD")
Mitsu-O! with Geila - My Summer Love
smile.dk - Petit Love
Papaya - Pink Dinosaur
Joe Rinoie - Synchronized Love
Rebecca - Young Forever

Part 2!

[identity profile] swordianmaster.livejournal.com 2004-01-25 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
DDR 5th Mix

Bambee - 17才 (Yes, that's a Japanese character. You'll find it on filesharers likely as 17, 17 sai, or 17 Upper Version)
DejaVu featuring Tasmin - Against All Odds (Definitive Mix)
Ni-Ni - Be Together
John Desire - Hot Limit
Missing Heart - Moonlight Shadow (sometimes incorrectly attributed to E-Rotic)
Atomic Kitten - Right Now
Judy Crystal - God of Romance/ロマンスの神様

Part 3!

[identity profile] swordianmaster.livejournal.com 2004-01-25 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
DDRMAX - Dance Dance Revolution 6th Mix

Bambee - Cowgirl
Jenny - Do You Remember Me
BeForU - Firefly
Flashman - Flash In The Night
Tiggy - Freckles/Sobakasu (KCP Re-edit) - IF you can stand the <stupidlyrics>. I'd personally recommend just getting Sobakasu instead, as it's not dancey music. It's the first Kenshin OP.
Tenth Planet - Ghosts (Vincent De Moor Remix) - NOT the full version! (It gets way too Generic Trance Shit in the full version)
U1 Jewel Style - Midnite Blaze
Judy Crystal - Nori Nori Nori
Aurora featuring Naimee Coleman - Ordinary World - OR you can just get the original Duran Duran song. :P
Riyu Kosaka - true... (Radio Edit) - Make sure to get the Radio Edit, not Trance Sunrise Mix! Unless you like a hint of Generic Trance Shit, that is.
Jenny Rom - WWW.Blonde Girl (Momo Mix)
Eurobeat Lovers - Yozora no Muko/夜空ノムコウ

DDRMAX American PS2 Version

Golden Gate - Take It To The Morning Light (Extended Vocal Mix)

Part...ngh... 4.

Rose & John - Living In America
DJ Speedo featuring Angelica - There You'll Be - YES, this is a speed-techno cover of a Titanic song. That makes me sad, but I liked it -before- I found that out!

The EXTREEEEM Part

...It should be noted here that I have the utmost of respect for the fact that you were able to DO THAT.

This has been copied to a notepad file and I'll set about assaulting my filesharing method of choice at a slightly later time. (Interestingly, I appear to already have something by BeForU here, but I have no idea what it's called. I may have to brandish it at you later to find out.)

...Thank you a lot. ...wow, damn. *eye list* I should get moving on this soonish.
